How to Oi!
Everything you need to know — tap any section to expand.
An Oi is a task or reminder that your brain keeps forgetting.
- ·
Think of it like a sticky note — but one that actually yells at you.
- ·
Add anything: "take meds", "call the dentist", "buy milk".
- ·
Oi! figures out when to remind you based on how urgent it is.
- ·
No need to set a specific time — just tell it how important it is.
Urgency tells Oi! how loudly and how often to remind you.
- ·
Low — gentle nudges, not very often. Good for "someday" tasks.
- ·
Medium — regular reminders. Good for weekly stuff.
- ·
High — frequent reminders. Good for things due this week.
- ·
Critical — Oi! will not let you forget. Use sparingly.
- ·
The app learns over time — if you always say reminders are "too early", it backs off.
Add a due date and Oi! ramps up reminders as the deadline gets closer.
- ·
No due date? No problem — Oi! still reminds you based on urgency.
- ·
With a due date, reminders get more frequent as the deadline approaches.
- ·
Due in 15 minutes? Expect an urgent nudge.
- ·
Due in 3 days? Just a gentle heads-up for now.
Oi! can remind you when you arrive somewhere — like a supermarket or the office.
- ·
When adding an Oi, tap "Add location" and drop a pin.
- ·
When your phone detects you're nearby, Oi! fires the reminder.
- ·
Perfect for "buy milk when near Woolies" or "ask boss about leave when at work".
- ·
Location is only used to trigger reminders — it's never stored or shared.
- ·
You'll be asked to allow location access the first time.
Reminders only work if notifications are turned on.
- ·
Allow notifications when prompted — this is how Oi! reaches you.
- ·
Reminders won't fire between 10pm and 7am (quiet hours).
- ·
If you miss a notification, the Oi stays on your Today list.
- ·
On iPhone: install the app to your home screen for the best experience.
Swipe right or tap the tick to mark an Oi done.
- ·
You'll get a quick "how did that feel?" question — this helps Oi! learn your rhythm.
- ·
"Too early" = Oi! will wait longer before reminding you next time.
- ·
"Too late" = Oi! will remind you sooner next time.
- ·
Completed Ois are saved so you can see what you've achieved.
Choose who delivers your reminders — from gentle to absolutely relentless.
- ·
Oi! — friendly default. Warm nudges, no drama.
- ·
Drill Sergeant — loud, no excuses, military energy.
- ·
Mum / Dad — disappointed but loving. Classic.
- ·
Football Coach — motivational, championship mindset.
- ·
Comedian — your reminders, but make it funny.
- ·
Manga Sensei — anime energy, destiny, power levels.
- ·
Change your character anytime in Settings.
Tap the mic on the Add screen and just say what you need to do.
- ·
Say something like: "Call the dentist on Friday, high urgency".
- ·
Oi! will fill in the title, urgency, and due date automatically.
- ·
Works best in Safari on iPhone.
- ·
You'll need to allow microphone access the first time.
Your character won't let you delete without a fight — and that's the point.
- ·
Tap "Delete Oi" at the bottom of any Oi's detail screen.
- ·
Your active character will try to talk you out of it first.
- ·
If you still want to delete, tap "Still delete" for a final warning.
- ·
Only then does the real delete button appear — two hoops, on purpose.
- ·
This helps ADHD brains avoid impulsive deletes they'll regret.
- ·
Changed your mind at any point? Tap Cancel to go back.
Deleted Ois don't disappear immediately. They sit in Abandoned for 48 hours.
- ·
After deleting, the Oi moves to the Abandoned section on your Today list.
- ·
Your character will gently (or not so gently) shame you about it.
- ·
A countdown bar shows how long until it's gone for good.
- ·
Tap "Phoenix it 🔥" to rescue it and restore it to your active list.
- ·
After 48 hours it's permanently deleted — no getting it back.
- ·
Think of it as a cooling-off period for impulsive deletes.
A few things that make Oi! work better for how your brain works.
- ·
Keep task titles short and specific — "call dentist" beats "sort out dental stuff".
- ·
If a task feels overwhelming, break it into smaller Ois.
- ·
Use Critical urgency sparingly — if everything is urgent, nothing is.
- ·
Check your Today list first thing in the morning.
- ·
The app works offline — no internet needed for reminders.
- ·
Install it to your home screen so it's one tap away.
